Marian collected her materials in 60 countries and from New York importers: silver, gold, stones, pearls, porcelain, crystal, lucite, glass and vintage beads. She paired materials that rarely meet in one piece and brought juxtaposition and humor to every combination. Each piece was designed and made by her own hands, in the New York studio jewelry tradition.

Meet Marian Fay Levitt, New York Jewelry Designer

Marian Fay Levitt was an award-winning studio art jewelry designer and master instructor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. A Holocaust survivor who spent the war in hiding in Hungary, she made bold, handmade pieces that combine expert bead stringing, metalsmithing and enamel with materials gathered on her travels around the world.
