Marvelisa Legacies (marvelisalegacies.art and marvelisadesigns.art) is operated by MF Levitt Estate (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what personal information the site collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
When you contact us. The contact form asks for your name, email address, an optional phone number, the reason you are writing (such as a private viewing, hosting a trunk show, a podcast guest inquiry or a speaking request) and your message. We use this only to reply to you.
When you join the email list. We collect your email address, your name if you give it, and the topics you choose, such as family stories, Marian’s jewelry, the Lions Leap podcast or the jewelry book. We use this to send you the updates you chose.
When you buy from the shop. We collect your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses and order details so we can process, ship and support your order. Payments are handled by Stripe and/or PayPal, and we never see or store your full card number.
When you browse the site. Like most websites, the site automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and how you arrived. Some of this is collected through cookies, described below.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the site is not directed to them.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to answer your messages, send the emails you signed up for, fulfill and support orders, understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it, keep the site secure, and meet legal and tax obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Who We Share It With
We share information only with the service providers that run the site and its features, each of which handles it on our behalf:
- Hostinger: website hosting
- MailerLite: email list and newsletters
- WooCommerce, with Stripe and/or PayPal: the shop and payment processing
- USPS, UPS or FEDEX: delivering orders
- Google Analytics: visitor statistics, used only if you accept analytics cookies
- YouTube: videos on the site load from YouTube only after you press play
We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our visitors or the public.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies. Essential cookies keep the site and the shop working, such as remembering your cart. Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are useful, and they are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser.
Affiliate Links
Some pages, such as Books & Resources, include affiliate links to booksellers, archival suppliers and other services. If you buy through one of these links, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you. The retailer may use cookies to track the referral, under its own privacy policy.
How Long We Keep It
We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond and follow up, email list details until you unsubscribe, and order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is generally seven years. Analytics data is kept in summary form.
Your Choices and Rights
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of every email. You can also ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it or send you a copy, and you can object to or limit how we use it. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region with similar laws, these rights apply under that law, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for using your information is your consent (for the email list and analytics cookies), the need to fulfill your order, and our legitimate interest in answering messages and running the site.
To make a request, contact us. We will respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
International Visitors
The site is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. When information about visitors from the EU or UK is transferred, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual clauses or similar safeguards.
Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to personal information to the people and providers who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site changes, for example when the Lions Leap podcast launches. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
